About Future Talents Academy
Future Talents Academy is a Dubai football academy for children and teenagers, and this ground is its Downtown pitch on Al Ohood Street. The academy also trains at Studio City (Polo Homes, Arabian Ranches) and at HCT in Academic City, each on its own timetable. At Downtown there are two groups: 4 to 13 year olds at 5PM and 14 to 16 year olds at 6PM, both on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Its coaching method includes playing barefoot, which the academy says helps players find their natural touch and flair, and it describes regular DOFA and YFL league fixtures across Dubai. Algeria's Madjid Bougherra and Islam Slimani are listed as ambassadors. Families start with a free trial: the coaches watch the session, then either offer a place or explain what to work on first. It is rated 4.6 on Google from 9 reviews.
The activity
Football, explained
Football (soccer) coaching teaches children ball control, passing, movement and teamwork through drills and small-sided games. The youngest players work on balance, first touches and simply enjoying the ball; older ones move on to tactics, positional play and competitive league matches. Along the way it builds fitness, coordination and the confidence that comes from playing as part of a team. Many clubs take children from around age 4, and a good academy keeps players with the same coaches and team-mates for several seasons, so friendships and skills grow together. A trial session is the usual first step, letting coaches place a child in the right group.
Who it's for
Children and teenagers from 4. At the Downtown ground the timetable has a 4-13 group and a 14-16 group. The Academic City ground runs 4-13 and 14-17 groups, and Studio City runs a 4-12 group. Players are placed by age and ability after a trial.
What to expect
You start by filling in the trial form online; there is nothing to pay at that point. The academy team then phones or messages you to arrange a trial with the group that fits your child's age, and tells you what to bring. The trial is a normal training session. Afterwards the coaches either offer a place, confirming the schedule, kit and fees, or tell you honestly what needs work first and where they would place your child to build it. Session length is not stated on the timetable, so ask the provider.
