What age can my child start DJ lessons at Dancemania Dubai?

The school says its courses are open to all ages, 'whether you're young or adult', but it does not publish a minimum age or run a separate kids' programme. Ask the provider whether they take your child's age.

How much are DJ lessons at Dancemania Dubai?

On the site in September 2026, a one-to-one DJ Discovery Lesson is listed at AED 700 regular price, with a promotional sale price of AED 600. The 5-lesson Package 1 is AED 3,500 regular, AED 3,000 on sale, and packages go up to 20 lessons (AED 12,500 regular, AED 10,500 on sale). Two-person packages are also listed.

Are the lessons private or in a group?

Course packages are one-to-one with the instructor. There are also two-person packages, where two people train together, and the site offers a separate booking for group sessions; ask the provider about group options.

How long is each lesson and when are they held?

Each lesson lasts 1 hour 30 minutes, and dates and times are arranged around your schedule. The studio lists its hours as 11AM to 9PM Monday to Friday and 11AM to 5PM on Saturday and Sunday.

Does my child need their own equipment or any music experience?

No. All equipment is provided at the studio, and the school says no previous skills are needed.

Can I cancel or get a refund?

Lessons must be cancelled at least 3 hours before the scheduled time and packages must be used within 6 months of purchase. The terms say all sales are final and there are no refunds.

Dancemania Dubai is a DJ and music production studio in Al Quoz 1, on the first floor of the Union Coop building next to Oasis Mall. Lessons are private: one student with the instructor, or two people learning together on a shared package, and each lesson runs for 1 hour 30 minutes at a time arranged around your schedule. DJ students work on Pioneer DJ decks with Serato and Rekordbox software, and production students choose Ableton Live, Logic Pro or FL Studio. The school says its courses are open to all ages, 'whether you're young or adult', and that no previous skills are needed. It does not run a separate children's programme or publish a minimum age, so check whether it suits your child's age before you book. The instructor named on the site is GEMANDI, a DJ and producer who moved to Dubai in 2007. Dancemania holds a 5.0 rating on Google from 373 reviews.

The activity

DJ & Music Production, explained

DJing is the craft of mixing recorded music live: choosing tracks, matching their tempo and blending one into the next on decks and a mixer so the music never stops. Music production is the studio side, where students build their own tracks on a computer, from beats and melodies to arrangement, mixing and mastering. Both are hands-on and technical, and they train a good ear for rhythm, concentration and patience, plus the confidence to perform in front of others. Neither needs any music theory to start. Most schools teach on the same decks and software used in clubs, so learners practise on real equipment from their first lesson.

Who it's for

The school says its DJ and music production courses are 'suitable for all age groups' and 'open to all ages', and that no previous skills are needed. There is no separate children's or teens' programme and no published minimum age, so ask the provider whether they take your child's age. Levels run from Beginner through Intermediate and Advanced to Advanced Pro.

What to expect

The easiest first step is a single one-to-one Discovery Lesson of 1 hour 30 minutes, in DJing or in music production; a DJ Discovery Lesson for two people is also offered. All equipment is provided at the studio, so there is nothing to bring. DJ lessons cover practical and theory skills across house, hip-hop, RnB, Arabic and Bollywood music. Production lessons start with beat making, melodies, arrangement, plugins and samples. Dates and times are set around your availability. Longer packages run 5, 10, 15 or 20 lessons and end with a certificate of completion. Ask the provider whether a parent can stay in the studio during a child's lesson.
