CrossCourt Tennis Academy coaches junior tennis for ages 5 to 17, from complete beginners to advanced players. It describes its style as a "game-based approach" - coaching through play, not just drills. This page covers its venue at Nibras International School in Dubai Investment Park 1, where the academy lists outdoor, fully shaded courts. Nibras is one of more than a dozen venues CrossCourt uses across Dubai, from Ambassador International Academy in Al Quoz to GRIP Sports in Jumeirah Heights. Children can train one-to-one, as a pair with a friend or sibling (ages 8-17), or in small groups of up to four, and all sessions last 60 minutes. Prices are published: a first trial group session is AED 50, single group sessions are AED 150, and junior term packages start from AED 1,200. Session times are booked around coach and court availability, so message the academy to check which programmes and slots run at Nibras.

Tennis, explained

Tennis teaches kids hand-eye coordination, footwork and racket control, starting with simple rallying games before moving into scoring and match play. Junior coaching usually groups children by age and ability, and younger beginners often start with red balls - softer, slower balls on smaller courts - so they can rally sooner. It builds balance, reaction speed and focus, and it is a sport children can keep playing for life, on their own or with friends. At CrossCourt, junior coaching starts at age 5, with split sessions for pairs from age 8.

Who it's for

Children and teens aged 5 to 17, beginner to advanced: Junior Private coaching (5-17), Junior Split Sessions for pairs (8-17) and Junior Group Lessons of up to four players (5-17). The academy also runs Holiday Camps; ages for these are not published.

What to expect

New players can start with a single trial group session for AED 50 with no commitment. Sessions last 60 minutes, and groups have up to four players. Bring comfortable sportswear, non-marking tennis shoes and water; rackets and balls are included in the price, so a child without a racket can borrow one. The Nibras courts are outdoor and fully shaded. If the weather makes play impossible, the academy reschedules at no cost or offers an indoor option. Which junior programmes and times run at Nibras depends on coach availability, so ask the provider when you book.
