About Archibald Sports Academy
Archibald Sports Academy runs tennis, swimming, squash and padel coaching at community venues across Dubai. This listing is its Green Community venue in Dubai Investment Park, where the academy's site lists five tennis courts and coaches tennis and swimming. Tennis is the core offer for children here: in the current term the venue runs Red Ball (5-8), Orange Ball (8-10) and Green Ball (10-12) groups plus Juniors groups, on weekdays and some Saturdays. Group sessions cost AED 115 or AED 130 plus VAT, sold as term packages, and paid trial classes can be booked. Young players heading into competitions can join the Archibald Pro Team programme. On the swimming side, kids group lessons run alongside private and semi-private sessions. The coaches the site lists for Green Community are Peter, an LTA Senior Coach; Roy, a PTR Instructor; and Pawel, a swimming coach and lifeguard. Tennis is booked online at bookings.archibaldsports.com and swimming through the academy's aquatic booking page. It's rated 4.6 on Google from 27 reviews.
The activity
Tennis, explained
Tennis for children is usually taught on smaller courts with slower, low-compression balls and shorter rackets, so young players can rally sooner and enjoy it from the first session. Early lessons focus on balance, coordination, movement and racket-and-ball skills through games. As children grow they move up through colour stages (red, orange, then green) towards a full-size court and standard balls, adding match play and tactics along the way. Tennis builds hand-eye coordination, footwork, concentration and good sportsmanship. At this academy's Green Community venue, the youngest group is Red Ball, for ages 5 to 8.
Who it's for
Children from age 5 at this venue. The Green Community tennis groups are Red Ball (ages 5-8), Orange Ball (8-10), Green Ball (10-12) and Juniors (Intermediate and general groups); the academy's programme page gives slightly different bands (Red 5-8, Orange 8-9, Green 9-11, Juniors 12 and over). Tots Tennis (ages 3-5) runs at other venues, not Green Community. The Archibald Pro Team is for players starting out in competitions. Kids group swimming lessons are for all ages and skill levels, with private and semi-private options. Adults have their own classes too.
What to expect
At Green Community, Red Ball and Orange Ball groups on West court 2 are 45-minute sessions; Green Ball, Juniors and all East-court groups are 60 minutes. The Mini Tennis stages use smaller courts, low-compression balls and shorter rackets, and Mini Tennis Green moves to a full-size court with green-dot balls and adds match play. You can book a paid trial class online: AED 99 for the West court 2 Red and Orange groups, AED 115 for Green Ball and the East-court mini groups, AED 130 for Juniors (plus 5% VAT). Kids group swimming lessons are sold as 60-minute sessions. Session times are on the booking page.
