Art House Education Dubai: one-to-one art and design tuition in Al Barsha
About Art House Education Dubai
Art House Education Dubai is a KHDA-approved art and design school in office 502, on the fifth floor of Rasis Business Center in Al Barsha 1. Every course is private and one to one, shaped around the student's goals and timetable. Subjects cover fine art, painting, drawing, graphic design, fashion, interior, product, textile and architecture design. There are three main strands: short beginner courses of 10 to 12 hours that end with a KHDA-attested certificate; a Visual Arts Foundation Course in drawing, painting, sketching and shading, sold in packages of 30, 50 or 100 hours; and an Art Portfolio Preparation Course for students applying to art and design universities, where most spend 30 to 120 hours. There is also a portfolio review service for students who already have work to show. The school was founded by Alisha Phichitsingh, a fashion design graduate of Parsons and Central Saint Martins who also set up Bangkok Art House. Visits are by appointment only, and the first step is a free consultation.
The activity
Drawing, explained
Drawing is the starting point for almost every kind of art and design. Students learn to look carefully and put what they see on paper: line, shape, shading, proportion and perspective, first in pencil and then in charcoal, ink or paint. From there it opens out into painting, fashion sketching, graphic design and architectural drawing. It builds patience, fine motor control, close observation and the confidence to turn an idea into something other people can see. Many children start with relaxed group drawing classes when they are small; structured one-to-one tuition like this tends to suit older children and teenagers who want real technique, or who are building a portfolio for art school.
Who it's for
The school does not publish an age range. Its courses run from complete beginners to advanced students, and its visual arts page says the one-to-one training helps younger students learn the basics of drawing, painting, sketching and shading. The portfolio course is for students applying to art and design schools, and the beginner courses are pitched at anyone deciding which creative subject or career to pursue, so adults are taught too. The school says families from international schools across Dubai use it. Ask the provider about the youngest age they take before booking.
What to expect
Start with a free consultation, booked through the form on the website or by phone, WhatsApp or email, to talk through goals and pick a course. Lessons are private, one to one, at the Al Barsha studio, and the student and instructor decide together what each session covers, whether that is building technique or making pieces for a portfolio. Courses run all year round, and the student sets the pace and the schedule. Portfolio students work on research, sketchbooks, concept development, material research and technical workshops such as sketching and 3D modelling, with critiques along the way. Prices, lesson lengths and what to bring are not published: ask the provider.
