About AquaLeader
AquaLeader runs private swimming lessons built on a simple format: one child, one coach, one pool. It has three Dubai branches: Dubai Marina, Mirdif and Downtown Dubai. The indoor pool is reserved for your child's session, the water is kept at 32-33°C and the room at 28°C, which suits even young babies. Programmes follow age: Baby's First (2 weeks to 12 months), Float & Grow (1-3 years) and Big Kid Swim (4-7 years), plus Gentle Steps, an adaptive programme from 2 weeks to 12 years for children with developmental challenges. Lessons last 30 minutes, and the school says some children need two or three sessions to settle in, and that is fine - the coach follows the child. Each swimmer has a progress logbook, parents watch from a lounge by the pool, and you can book a single trial lesson before choosing a 6, 12, 24 or 90-lesson membership.
The activity
Swimming, explained
Learn-to-swim classes teach children water confidence, breathing, floating and stroke technique in a safe, structured and playful way. Most schools start with water familiarisation for babies and toddlers, then move into independent swimming basics, and finally stroke correction for school-age kids. Coaches usually track progress with a badge or logbook system so parents can see skills build session by session. Typical starting age is a few weeks old for baby classes, though most children begin structured lessons from around 2-3 years.
Who it's for
Babies from 2 weeks old (Baby's First), toddlers aged 1-3 (Float & Grow) and children aged 4-7 (Big Kid Swim). Gentle Steps is an adaptive programme for children from 2 weeks to 12 years with developmental challenges; the school says coaches on it have specialised training. Every lesson is one-to-one, so the pace is set by your child.
What to expect
A 30-minute private lesson with one coach, in an indoor pool reserved for your child. AquaLeader describes the visit step by step: an administrator greets you, children play in a wooden play zone while they wait, then there is a preparation area and changing rooms with showers. There is no pressure on the first session - the school says it is about connection and comfort. Bring a swimsuit, indoor shoes and an aqua nappy for under-3s; towels, baby shampoo and hygiene products are provided free. Parents watch from a lounge by the pool and don't go in the water. You can also ask to choose your child's coach.
