About Al Najma Alzarqaa football academy
Al Najma Alzarqaa football academy trains children and young players aged 5 to 21 at Alwasl Football Club's Zabeel Stadium, with an office at 301 Opal Tower, 3rd floor. Founded in August 2019, the academy takes part in the UAE Football Academies League organised by Dubai Sports Council and the UAE Football Federation. Its U18 team won the DOFA academies league in the 2022-23 season under head coach Navid Faridi, competing against 54 clubs across several age categories over seven months. The club says its coaches are AFC-certified and use up-to-date international training methods. Squads are grouped by age, with Under 10 and Under 18 teams listed on the website. Training days, session times and fees are not published, so message the academy on WhatsApp to ask about the right squad for your child and how to join. The Google listing notes that membership is required.
The activity
Football, explained
Football coaching teaches children ball control, dribbling, passing and shooting, then builds towards teamwork and reading the game through drills and small-sided matches. Younger players spend most of a session on fun, ball-heavy games that develop coordination, balance and confidence, while older squads work on positions, tactics and fitness. Along the way kids learn to listen to a coach, win and lose gracefully and play their part in a team. Many children start from around age 5, and academies usually group players by age (Under 10, Under 12 and so on), with older squads playing competitive league fixtures against other academies.
Who it's for
Children and young players aged 5 to 21, grouped into age categories including Under 10 and Under 18 squads.
