The activity
Football, explained
Football sessions build a child's ball control, passing, movement off the ball and basic tactics through drills and small-sided games. Coaches usually mix technical work such as dribbling, first touch and shooting with match play, so children practise their skills under a bit of pressure. Football also builds fitness and teamwork, and teaches children to follow instructions as part of a squad. Some clubs run mini-football for children under 6. Al Ahly Academy UAE's Youth Football Academy starts at age 6 and runs in age groups up to 18, with harder training for older and more advanced players.
Who it's for
Young players aged 6-18 in the academy's Youth Football Academy, plus an Elite Performance programme for talented players aiming higher. The site doesn't say which age groups train at North Park, whether there are girls' groups or what support is offered for special needs - ask the provider.
What to expect
The academy advertises a free trial session for new players, which is the natural first step. To book, fill in the registration form at registration.gscuae.com, choosing Dubai and then the Silicon Oasis - North Park branch, or message the academy on WhatsApp on +971 52 206 4719. The site doesn't publish session times for this venue, what a first session involves, which age groups train here or what kit to bring. So when you book, ask the provider for your child's age group's days and times, whether boots and shin pads are needed, and the monthly fee.
