What age can my child start aerial classes at Aerial Lab?

From 5. The 5-8 years class uses hoop and hammock, the 9+ class uses hoop and silks, and a weekend mixed-ages class takes children from 6. From 14, teens can join the adult group classes.

When are the kids classes?

On the studio's timetable for the week of 28 September 2026: 5-8 years on Monday and Wednesday, 4:30-5:45PM; 9+ years on Tuesday and Thursday, 4:30-5:45PM; and kids classes on Sunday at 9-10:15AM and 10:15-11:30AM. Check the studio's booking app for the current term.

How much is a term of kids classes?

Kids term fees are not published on the website or the online price list. Ask the provider on WhatsApp (+971 50 103 4140). A term is non-refundable once paid.

Can my child try a class first?

Yes. The studio offers a trial session before you commit to a full term. Sign-ups for each term close after Week 2. Ask the provider for the trial price.

Can I stay and watch?

No. Parents are not allowed inside the studio during kids classes, because space is tight and it distracts the children, unless the coach agrees for a particular occasion.

Does Aerial Lab do kids' birthday parties?

Yes. The Aerial Birthday Experience is 75 minutes for up to 10 participants at AED 1,500. The Signature Aerial Birthday Party is 90 minutes for up to 10, with decorations, balloons and photos, at AED 2,100. You can bring your own cake and snacks.

Circus & Aerial Arts, explained

Aerial arts means climbing, hanging, spinning and posing on equipment rigged from the ceiling: a steel hoop (lyra), long fabric silks, or a low fabric hammock. Children learn to grip, climb, invert safely and link moves into short sequences, with thick crash mats underneath. It builds grip and core strength, flexibility, coordination and body awareness, and a lot of confidence, because every new trick starts out looking impossible. Beginners usually start low to the ground, and hoop and hammock are often easier first steps than silks, which ask more of the arms. Many studios start children at around five, and it suits children who love climbing, gymnastics or dance.

Who it's for

Children from 5 in three aerial groups: 5-8 years (hoop and hammock), 9+ years (hoop and silks) and a weekend mixed-ages class for 6+ (hoop and silks). All are open to all levels with no experience needed. The kids page also lists a Kids Acro & Flex class for ages 5+ (60 minutes). The kids programme covers children up to 14; from 14, teens can join the adult group classes. Parents are asked to tell the coaches about any special needs or considerations. The studio is not ladies-only.

What to expect

Classes last 75 minutes and follow a structured syllabus through the school term. Younger children explore hoop and hammock through games and creative movement; the 9+ group works on technique, strength, transitions and short sequences on hoop and silks. A trial session is available before you pay for the term. Dress your child in fitted sports clothes: leggings that cover the back of the knees and a T-shirt that covers the torso and armpits. No jewellery, shoes come off at the door, and bring a water bottle (there is a water dispenser). Parents wait outside: they are not allowed in the studio during kids classes. Late arrivals of more than five minutes cannot join.
