Absolute Swimming is a swim academy that says it was established in 2011 and runs programmes for all ages, from babies to adults, in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Lessons take place at school pools the academy lists as its venues - Kings School Dubai, Kings School Al Barsha and Kings School Nad Al Sheba in Dubai, plus Noya British School and British International School in Abu Dhabi. There are four programmes: Ducklings for babies and toddlers, Swim STARS for children learning the basics, Swim SQUAD for competitive swimmers and Swim ADULTS for over-18s, including female-only classes. It also offers a curriculum swimming service that supports school PE departments, and it is part of Infinite Sports, which runs academies in several sports. New swimmers start with a free 15-minute assessment so the team can suggest the right class.

The activity

Swimming, explained

Learn-to-swim lessons take children from first splashes to confident strokes, usually in small groups matched by age and ability. Younger kids start with water confidence and floating, then move on to breathing, kicking and basic strokes like freestyle and backstroke. Older or more able swimmers can progress into squad training with a focus on technique, endurance and racing starts. Most academies start babies from a few months old (parent-and-baby classes) and take children right through to their early teens, with adult classes also common. Regular sessions build safety around water as much as sporting skill.

Who it's for

Babies from three months to four-year-olds (Ducklings), children from three years upwards learning the basics (Swim STARS), promising swimmers ready for squad training (Swim SQUAD), and adults aged 18+ with group, private and female-only options (Swim ADULTS). Which programmes run at which venue isn't listed - ask the provider when you book.

What to expect

Every new swimmer starts with a free assessment session of about 15 minutes. You meet the team, they see your child's current level and advise which programme suits best. Ducklings sessions are child-directed and play-based, with parents involved; Swim STARS focuses on keeping safe, staying active and being social; Swim SQUAD follows the Long Term Athlete Development model. Lessons are held at the academy's school-pool venues, not at its JVC office. Kit lists, prices and class times are not published on the site - ask the provider.
