Football, explained

Football coaching for children is about lots of time on the ball. In a typical kids' session, players warm up with ball-mastery drills, practise dribbling, passing and shooting, then put it into small-sided games such as 1v1 and 2v2, where every child gets plenty of touches and chances to score. Alongside technique, it builds fitness, coordination, confidence and teamwork, and teaches children to win and lose well. Groups are usually split by age so younger beginners and older, more experienced players each get the right level of challenge. Many clubs take children from around age 4, and at this academy the youngest group is for ages 4-7.
