Al Satwa

Vinu Swimming Academy is a swimming instructor in Al Bada, teaching children and adults from beginner to improver level. Kids join either a Beginners group, which covers water confidence, floating, breathing and basic strokes for young first-time swimmers, or an Improvers group, which moves on to stroke correction, endurance and confidence in deeper water. Classes are kept small so each swimmer gets proper attention and correction, teaching is described as patient and safety-first, and parents get regular progress feedback. Lessons take place at the academy's Dubai pool - ask where when you book. Alongside lessons, the academy offers lifeguard training and supplies lifeguards to pools, hotels and events. To book, you message the swimmer's age and current level on WhatsApp or by phone, and the team confirms a class time. It holds 4.9 out of 5 on Google from 27 reviews.

The activity

Swimming, explained

Swimming lessons teach children water confidence and safety first, then stroke technique as they progress. Most academies start with getting comfortable putting their face in water and floating before moving on to kicking, arm strokes and eventually full front crawl, backstroke and breaststroke. Children typically start from around age 3-4, though water-confidence sessions can begin younger. Beyond the physical fitness benefit, swimming is treated as an essential life skill in a city where pools and beaches are part of everyday life, and lessons usually run as short, frequent sessions rather than long single blocks.

Who it's for

Children and adults, in two groups each: Kids Beginners (young first-time swimmers) and Kids Improvers, plus Adults Beginners and Adults Improvers. Specific age ranges are not published - ask the provider.

What to expect

Beginners start with water confidence, floating and breathing before basic strokes; Improvers work on stroke correction, endurance and confidence in deeper water. Classes are small, teaching is patient and safety-first with age-appropriate methods, and parents get regular progress feedback. To start, tell the team your child's age and current level on WhatsApp or by phone and they confirm a class time at their Dubai pool; they usually reply within a day. Appointments are recommended. Lesson length, prices, kit and whether a trial is offered - ask the provider.
