About Tutor Doctor
Tutor Doctor is a tutoring service with a Dubai office in Aspin Commercial Tower on Sheikh Zayed Road (Trade Centre 1), and a second UAE office in Abu Dhabi. Rather than a classroom centre, it matches each student with a tutor for personalised, one-to-one lessons, either in person or online. It also mentions POD learning sessions as an alternative to one-on-one tutoring. Subjects on its site cover maths, physics, chemistry, biology, economics, history, geography and humanities; test prep for IGCSE, A-Levels, IB, CBSE, SAT and EmSAT; and languages including English, Arabic, French, Hindi, Spanish and Mandarin. It says it works with students from elementary level through to adults. There is a dedicated service for what it calls exceptional students, covering learning differences, giftedness, sight or hearing loss and developmental delay, among others. Every family starts with a free consultation, and the site describes a 60-day money-back guarantee on unused tutoring hours and a new tutor whenever a match does not work. Prices are not published.
The activity
Tuition Centre, explained
Private tutoring pairs a child with one tutor who works through the gaps a busy classroom can miss. Sessions usually mix homework help with reteaching the topics a child finds hard, at the child's own pace. Beyond the grades, it tends to build confidence and study habits: knowing how to plan revision, ask questions and tackle a tricky problem alone. Families in Dubai often use a tutor for one subject before exams, for a second language such as Arabic or French, or to keep up after a school move between curricula. Many children start in primary school, and tutoring can carry on through secondary exams.
Who it's for
Students of all ages: the site says it serves elementary students through to adult learners, with no exact age bands published. Includes support for exceptional learners (learning differences and disabilities, giftedness, blindness or partial sight, deafness or hard of hearing, behavioural, developmental and physical disabilities) and students learning English as an additional language.
What to expect
It starts with a free consultation, where Tutor Doctor talks with you and your child about goals, assesses your child's needs and recommends a programme. It then matches a tutor based on personality, interests and relevant experience. Lessons are one-to-one, in person or online, and combine homework help with filling gaps in your child's knowledge. The team follows up with regular session reports. Session length, frequency and fees are not published, so ask the provider during the consultation. If you are not happy with the tutor, the site says they will assign a new one.
