The Old Library

The Old Library is a lending library in Building 7 of the Gold & Diamond Park on Sheikh Zayed Road, opposite Equiti Metro Station in Al Quoz. Founded in 1969 and run entirely by volunteers, it is Dubai's oldest English-language library, with a children's section, a monthly storytime you book by phone or email, and a second-hand book sale that funds new stock. Membership is AED 231 a year, taken out in person by an adult with photo ID, and counts as a family membership so your children can borrow on it: up to 8 books for 28 days, with a drop box outside for returns. Children under 14 must stay with an adult. Open Saturday to Thursday 10am to 5pm, closed Friday.
