About The Logix Engine
The Logix Engine is a learning centre in Office 402, Aspect Tower, Business Bay that mixes after-school STEM with school tutoring. On the tech side there are three coding pathways (Coding Adventures with Scratch Jr and Scratch, Mobile App Design on Thunkable, and Machine Learning for Kids) and three robotics pathways (Early Robotics, RoboWizards on LEGO Mindstorms EV3, and Lego Mechanics), each listed for ages 6 to 12 with one 60-90 minute session a week. Each pathway is split into numbered levels, so a child can keep moving up. On the academic side it offers Maths, Science and Economics from primary school up to GCSE and A Level, with its site listing British, IB, CBSE and ICSE curricula. It also runs a one-to-one Assisted Study Program for homework help, and a second centre in JLT (408 Indigo Tower). You can book a 45-minute trial class in any programme during its open-day slots. The business identifies itself on Google as women-owned.
The activity
Coding, explained
Coding for children usually starts with block-based tools such as Scratch Jr and Scratch, where kids snap together instruction blocks to make characters move, tell stories and build simple games. As they grow in confidence they move on to apps, simple AI projects and, later, typed languages such as Python. Along the way children practise breaking a problem into steps, spotting and fixing mistakes, and thinking logically. Robotics adds a physical side: building models with motors and sensors, then programming them to react to the world. Many centres start children at around 6, often in small groups meeting once a week.
Who it's for
Coding and robotics pathways are listed for ages 6-12. Academic tutoring runs from primary (Grades 1-5 / Year 1-6, KS1/KS2) through middle school (KS3) to GCSE/IGCSE (KS4) and A Level (KS5), with Economics taught up to AQA and Edexcel A Level. Mobile App Design needs some prior block coding such as Scratch. Ask the provider about support for children with additional needs.
What to expect
Coding and robotics classes run once a week for 60-90 minutes. Robotics sessions end with a challenge to solve, for example building gear and pulley models in Early Robotics; in Coding Adventures children make Scratch characters move, jump and sing. Maths (Math-A-Logix) starts with a diagnostic test, then one weekly instructor-led session in a small group of 5, plus one or two self-paced practice sessions and a monthly progress check. To try it first, book a 45-minute trial class in any programme during the open-day slots (Tuesdays and Thursdays 5-6pm, Saturdays 10-11am) at Business Bay or JLT; the site does not say whether the trial is free, so ask the provider.
