The activity
Swimming, explained
Learn-to-swim classes take children from getting comfortable putting their face in the water through to proper stroke technique and confident lengths. Lessons usually move through water familiarisation, basic strokes and stroke correction, then squad-style training for stronger swimmers, building water safety, fitness and coordination along the way. Many swim schools start children from around age 3 or 4, and small groups or one-to-one lessons let the pace match the child. Regular weekly sessions are the norm, and progress is usually measured by what the child can do in the water rather than by time spent.
Who it's for
Children and adults, from complete beginners to intermediate and advanced swimmers ready for Squad Training. The Bur Dubai group classes announced in September 2026 are for kids and adults of all levels. No minimum age is published, so ask the provider.
What to expect
The website and posts don't describe a first lesson, what to bring or a trial, so ask the provider before you book. The website says instructors give personalised attention so each swimmer progresses at their own pace, with classes in the morning, afternoon or evening. Programmes run from Water Familiarisation and Learn to Swim to Stroke Correction and Squad Training, so ask which stage suits your child. You can join the group classes on Rolla Street in Bur Dubai, or book an on-site session at your own home pool. To book, WhatsApp +971 55 132 9787; its September 2026 posts ask you to send the word BOOK.
