Al Nahda

Sadgamaya Arts & Music is a music school in Al Nahda 2, Dubai, teaching piano, keyboard, guitar, drums and violin, plus Carnatic vocals. Its programme pages say lessons are one-to-one, follow the Trinity College London syllabus and lead to Trinity certificates, and welcome beginners from age 5 as well as adults. Alongside exams, students get chances to perform: in April 2023 the school's students played as a live orchestra behind playback singer Biju Narayanan at its "Devadoothar" concert, with the youngest performers aged 5. The school was founded by Praveen Sadgamaya, a keyboard player and composer who came to the UAE in 2012. The programme pages also carry a simple promise: enrol for 4 sessions and, if you're not satisfied, the school says it will return your money. It's rated 5.0 on Google from 31 reviews. Fees and lesson times aren't published, so message the school to ask.

Music Lessons, explained

Music lessons teach kids an instrument or singing technique one step at a time - reading notes, building finger or breath control, and eventually playing full pieces. Many schools also prepare students for graded exams from bodies like Trinity College London, giving families a recognised marker of progress. Lessons can be one-to-one or in small groups depending on the instrument and the school, and most accept complete beginners from primary-school age upwards, though some offer earlier starts for keyboard or singing.

Who it's for

Beginners from age 5 through to adults - the piano, guitar, violin and drum programme pages each say they take students starting at 5 as well as learners returning at 55. The Google listing marks it "good for kids". Whether a specific instrument suits a younger 5-year-old is worth asking the school.

What to expect

Lessons are one-to-one with a teacher, following the Trinity College London syllabus, and the programme pages describe teachers who help students spot and correct mistakes step by step. Piano and guitar students also learn to accompany singers, not just play solo pieces. There are performance chances at live shows, concerts and the school's events. Instead of a free trial, the school offers a money-back promise: enrol for 4 sessions and, if you're not satisfied, it says it will return your money. Lesson length, fees and what to bring aren't published - ask the provider.
