About مركز رياض الصالحين لتحفيظ القرآن الكريم
Riad Al-Saliheen Quran Learning Centre is a non-profit centre for Quran memorisation and Quranic studies in Al Wasl, Dubai, run under Emirati management. It was founded in 2005 by Major General Khalifa bin Zaen Al Muhairi, and says it has received the gold category of the Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Makruma several times, most recently in 2021. The Al Wasl building is for girls and women: its 2025 winter, December 2025 and 2026 summer courses were all for females only, with registration from age 6. Boys and girls both study at the centre's mosque branches in Al Quoz 4, Zabeel 2 and Al Jaddaf, and online circles take children from age 8. Courses follow the year: a winter course from September, a Ramadan course and a summer course. The centre also runs free buses for female students from several nearby areas. It is rated 4.9 on Google from 310 reviews.
The activity
Quran, explained
Quran memorisation classes usually run as small circles (halaqat) led by a teacher. Each child reads a new passage aloud, learns it by heart in short steps, then recites it back so the teacher can correct the pronunciation and the rules of recitation (tajweed) before moving on. Regular revision of what has already been learned is as important as new memorisation, so steady attendance matters. Children build memory, focus, confidence in reading aloud and a calm weekly routine, and many families also see it as a way to connect children with their faith and with Arabic. Centres usually place children by age and level, so ask how a new child starts.
Who it's for
At this Al Wasl building: girls and women. The 2025 winter course and the 2026 summer course here were both for females only, with in-person registration from age 6 and no upper age limit given. Boys aged 6 and over join at the centre's mosque branches (Umm Al Mu'mineen Aisha mosque in Al Quoz 4, the Sheikh Rashid and Sheikha Latifa (Ahl Al Sunnah) mosque in Zabeel 2, and Sultan Rashid bin Quba mosque in Al Jaddaf), where the circles are for boys and girls. Online circles are for boys and girls from age 8, and only for UAE residents. The site's announcements are in Arabic, with some pages in English, Urdu and Russian.
What to expect
For the in-person circles, registration is at the branch itself: for the 2025 winter course the centre asked families to come to the branch during working hours, from 8AM to 2:30PM. Online sign-up uses a form on the site. The rules on the 2026 summer online form say the student must not be enrolled at another Quran centre, must live in the UAE and must keep up attendance: three absences, in a row or not, can lead to removal. Online students also recite in a sard group and listen to each other; the December 2025 holiday course set a goal of memorising four juz (parts). The site does not describe a trial session, so ask when you call.
