About Rise Badminton Trainings & Sports
Rise Badminton Sports Academy (RBSA) coaches children and adults of all skill levels in Dubai Investment Park 1, at Durham School and Bright Riders School. For kids there are three programmes: the Beginner Program (Levels 1-3: Rookie, Beginner and Beginner Plus) from age 6, the Intermediate Program from age 8, and the High Performance Program from age 9 for advanced players aiming at bigger tournaments. Children can join a group batch working on grip, strokes and footwork, book semi-private or private lessons for closer technique correction, or play sparring games for match practice. The academy says it has over 20 years of experience in badminton, and its coaching puts technique before intensity. A January 2026 Instagram post mentions kid-friendly, lightweight rackets and a fully air-conditioned indoor court, and a new kids' term was announced at the end of August 2026. New players can book a free trial session. Rise Badminton Trainings & Sports is rated 5.0 on Google from 17 reviews.
The activity
Badminton, explained
Badminton is a fast racket sport played indoors, where players hit a shuttlecock over a high net in singles or doubles. For children it builds footwork, racket control, hand-eye coordination, reaction speed and match awareness. Beginners usually learn how to hold the racket, the basic strokes and how to serve, then move on to longer rallies and simple games. As they improve, sessions add more footwork patterns, tactics and match play against other players. At Rise, children can start in the Beginner Program from age 6. Because it is played indoors, it suits Dubai's hot months, and a child can keep playing it for years, for fun or in competitions.
Who it's for
Kids and adults of all skill levels. Kids' programmes: Beginner Program (Levels 1-3) from age 6, Intermediate Program from age 8, High Performance Program from age 9. Kids can train in a group batch, semi-private lessons, private lessons or sparring games.
What to expect
New players can start with a free trial session. In the Beginner Program, Level 1 (Rookie) covers hand-eye coordination, racket grip, forehand and backhand basics and fun drills; Level 2 adds court movement, rallying, serving and the rules and scoring; Level 3 moves on to match practice and local and academy tournaments. Group batches work on grip, strokes, footwork, coordination and fitness; semi-private lessons are smaller groups with more personal technique correction, and private lessons are one-on-one. The enquiry form asks for the student's name, age and the programme you are interested in. Session length, days and times, kit and prices are not published, so ask which venue and slot suits your child.
