About Prime Star Sports Services

Prime Star Sports Services is a badminton academy that coaches kids and teens aged 6 to 19, alongside adults, ladies-only groups and one-to-one lessons. It runs from its own Prime Star Sports Hall in Al Karama, near the Karama Post Office area, and from school and club venues across Dubai, from Al Qusais and Dubai Silicon Oasis to Al Quoz, Oud Metha and Al Warqa. The Al Nasr Club venue in Oud Metha is for elite and advanced players. Every new player has an assessment first and is then placed in a squad, from Beginner Level 1 up through Intermediate and Advance levels to an Elite squad. Sessions mix running and footwork drills, strokes, match play and some badminton theory, and students can enter internal and external tournaments. The academy awards certificates at beginner, intermediate and advanced levels. It publishes its monthly squad fees, starting at AED 294 for eight one-hour classes, and says to confirm current pricing with its admin team. Pick a venue on this page to see its session times.

The activity

Badminton, explained

Badminton is a fast racket sport played indoors over a high net, with a feathered shuttle instead of a ball. Children start with the basics: how to hold the racket, how to move around the court, and simple strokes such as the clear, the drop and the net shot. As they improve they rally, play games and learn where to stand and which shot to choose. It builds quick feet, hand-eye coordination, stamina and focus, and because a match is only two or four players, children get plenty of turns. Many clubs take children from around six, and players can keep going into their teens and adult life.

Who it's for

Kids and teens aged 6-19, from complete beginners to players competing at school, regional and national level. Squads are set by an assessment of age, skill level, learning speed and fitness. There are also adult groups, female-only sessions and private one-to-one coaching.

What to expect

The first step is a paid trial / assessment: you WhatsApp the academy with your preferred venue and your child's level, and a coach checks movement and technique, asks about experience and goals, and recommends a squad. After that you submit documents, pay the fee and start. A typical session has a warm-up, skill drills, controlled rallies or match practice, then a cool-down with coach feedback. Your child needs sports kit, non-marking indoor shoes, water and a racket (ask the admin team if you don't have one); shuttles are provided for drills. The trial fee is not published, so ask the provider.
