About Plato’s Planet Education Center

Plato’s Planet is a tuition centre with two branches, Al Qusais in Dubai and Al Majaz in Sharjah, and a third at Jumeirah Lake Towers listed as coming soon. It describes itself as a KHDA and SPEA accredited institute, established in 2015. The core is exam tuition: IGCSE and AS/A Level coaching for Cambridge and Edexcel boards, and CBSE classes from Grade 7 to Grade 12, including NEET and IIT-JEE entrance coaching for Grades 11 and 12. Subjects include maths, physics, chemistry, biology, English, business studies, accounting, economics, ICT and computer science. For younger children there are two junior courses. Plato Robotics has a Junior Programme for ages 6 to 9 and a Senior Programme for ages 9 to 14, working with LEGO WeDo, SPIKE and EV3, Scratch and Tynker, drones, Snap Circuits, micro:bits and 3D design. Brainobrain, for ages 6 to 15, is an abacus-based skills course with 10 levels and classes of up to 10 children. Classes run onsite and online, and the centre offers free trial classes. The site does not say which courses run at which branch, so ask the branch you pick.

The activity

Tuition Centre, explained

A tuition centre gives children extra teaching outside the school day, usually in small groups and matched to the curriculum they follow at school, whether that is British (IGCSE, A Level) or Indian (CBSE). Tutors go over topics again, set practice questions and past papers, and prepare students for exams. Many Dubai centres also run junior enrichment courses, such as robotics, coding or abacus-based mental maths, for primary-age children. Tuition builds confidence in tricky subjects, steady study habits and exam technique. Academic tuition is mostly for older primary and secondary students, while enrichment courses often start from around age six.

Who it's for

School-age children and teenagers. Brainobrain is for ages 6 to 15; Plato Robotics runs a Junior Programme (ages 6 to 9) and a Senior Programme (ages 9 to 14). CBSE coaching runs from Grade 7 (pre-foundation, Grades 7 and 8; foundation, Grades 9 and 10; NEET and IIT-JEE entrance coaching, Grades 11 and 12). IGCSE and AS/A Level tuition covers Core and Extended level students on the Cambridge and Edexcel boards. Special needs support: ask the branch you pick.

What to expect

Start with a free trial: the IGCSE page offers one free trial session, and the robotics page offers a free hour of robotics. The IGCSE course begins with an assessment of your child's strengths, then classes of an hour and a half, 8 a month, with weekly assignments, onsite or online. Missed classes can be made up, and you can ask to change tutor. Brainobrain means a 2-hour class each week plus 15 minutes of abacus practice at home every day, with an assessment at the end of each level. Both branches share one phone number and email on the contact page. Class times and fees, and which courses your branch runs: ask the branch.
