Pinpoint Fitness Al Furjan: obstacle-course and parkour classes for kids
About Pinpoint Fitness
Pinpoint Fitness teaches children to move through obstacle courses, parkour-style. It runs centres at The Pavilion in Al Furjan, Dubai Festival City and Ranches Souk in Arabian Ranches 2, plus one in Abu Dhabi. Children aged 2 to 15 (and adults) follow the same structured curriculum, grouped by age and ability: a parent-and-child toddlers class for ages 2 to 3.5, then four levels from age 4 up to 15, each with a beginner and an advanced group. Coaches lead children step by step through courses that change from class to class - jumping, vaulting, crawling, balance walking, hanging and swinging - with the focus on accuracy before speed. Once enrolled, children can also book specialty classes such as Flips, Grip & Swing, Balance, Strength, Speed and Airtime. Pinpoint also has an inclusive programme for autistic and neurodiverse children, with one-to-one classes that aim to build towards joining a group. Pinpoint is clear that this is physical education, not therapy. Every child starts with a free 20-minute assessment to find the right class.
The activity
Ninja & Adventure, explained
Obstacle-course and parkour training turns a gym floor into a series of challenges: children jump over boxes, vault, crawl under barriers, balance along beams, hang and swing from bars and rings, and push, pull and carry objects of different shapes. A coach breaks each course into steps, so children learn to move accurately first and faster later. It builds coordination, balance, strength and body awareness, and following the rules of a course trains focus and patience. At Pinpoint, toddlers start at 2 with a parent alongside them, and independent classes begin at 4, grouped by age and level up to 15.
Who it's for
Boys and girls aged 2 to 15. Toddlers (2 to 3.5) train with a parent in a parent-assisted, coach-guided class. Level 1 is for 4-year-olds, Level 2 for ages 5-7, Level 3 for ages 8-10 and Level 4 for ages 11-15, each with a beginner and an advanced (+) group. Pinpoint welcomes autistic and neurodiverse children (for example with ADHD, motor planning difficulties or dyslexia), with one-to-one private classes for those who need extra support before joining a group. Pinpoint's site says Al Furjan and Dubai Festival City serve children 2 to 15 and adults; for Ranches Souk it says kids and adults, so ask that branch about the youngest ages.
What to expect
Every child begins with a free 20-minute assessment. A coach checks their abilities, recommends the right class and lets them try the sport before you enrol. Kids' classes last an hour. Coaches guide children through changing obstacle courses and teach them the most efficient way to tackle each one, while children wait their turn in line and follow the course rules. Apart from the toddlers class, parents stay off the gym floor. Toddler sessions last 45 minutes in a toddlers area: the coach explains each station and the parent helps their own child through it. Classes must be booked in advance through Pinpoint's online booking platform. Ask the provider what your child should wear.
