About PaddlershubUAE
PaddlersHub is a Dubai paddling club and shop covering surfski and kayak, stand up paddleboarding (SUP) and dragon boat, with its base on Jumeirah 2 beach. Alongside adult sessions, rentals and equipment sales, it runs group sessions for children that mix kayak, SUP and dragon boat, with the club's own boats, paddles and life jackets included. On its kids' kayak pages the club says children learn technique from coaches who have competed at the highest levels, and it has child-sized kayaks for young paddlers. Its FAQ says it has boats for children from about four years old. Families can start with a single try-out session before choosing a pack or a monthly membership, and siblings get a discount. For older children there is a Junior Kayak Squad for ages 12 to 18, joined with the coach's approval. It is a good fit for a child who swims confidently and wants regular time on the water rather than a one-off holiday activity.
The activity
Kayaking, explained
Kids' kayaking starts on stable sit-on-top boats in calm, shallow water. Children learn to sit balanced, hold the paddle correctly and make forward and turning strokes, then build up to steering, stopping and getting back on after a tumble. Everyone wears a life jacket, and coaches stay close on the water. Paddling works the core, shoulders and back, and children usually gain confidence in the sea quickly. Group sessions add teamwork and a bit of friendly racing. Many clubs take children from around four or five on small, child-sized boats, while squads for teenagers focus on technique and fitness. Being comfortable in water matters more than any previous sport.
Who it's for
Children from about four years old, on boats sized for them (the club's FAQ and kids' kayak lessons page). The Junior Kayak Squad is for ages 12-18 and is joined after the coach's approval. The kids' kayak lessons page says confident swimming is a prerequisite. Nothing published on special needs, so ask the provider.
What to expect
The current kids' group sessions last one hour, with PaddlersHub boats, paddles and life jackets included. The club's older kids' kayak lessons page describes the general format: a warm-up, time on the water and on the beach, and children helping to set up equipment and pack it away. That page also asks families to arrive about 10 minutes early and describes one child per coach for beginners and 3-4 per coach in the junior group; confirm the current group format with the provider. Bring swimwear, a towel, a water bottle, a snack and sun protection. A single try-out session is AED 150 in the online shop, and a waiver form is filled in once before the first session.
