About Master Brain Abacus
Master Brain Children Development Center is a learning centre in Aspect Tower, Business Bay, built around the BrainOBrain method, which the centre describes as a brain development system that uses NLP and the abacus. Alongside the BrainOBrain Skill Development Course (Abacus), it runs handwriting classes, Learn Arabic for ages 6-12, Introduction to Spanish for ages 6-12 on Saturday mornings, Scratch coding for ages 6-10 in association with Penrose, and a French course for children with Alliance Francaise. Chess is taught as an online programme for ages 6 to 18, and there are holiday camps with pick-up and drop-off available, one-day photography workshops, and BrainOBrain at School for schools. Live online Arabic, abacus and handwriting classes are also offered to families in Abu Dhabi. Fees and the abacus age range aren't on the website, so ask when you book a visit. It's rated 4.6 on Google from 42 reviews.
The activity
Language Classes, explained
Abacus mental maths teaches children to calculate on a bead abacus, then to picture the beads and work out sums in their heads. Master Brain uses the BrainOBrain method, which the centre describes as a brain development system combining the abacus with NLP and brain exercises it calls Brain Gym. Children move through progressive levels with regular practice, and the centre says the aim goes beyond speed and accuracy to memory, listening, visualisation and confidence. Handwriting classes sit alongside it, working on hand position, posture, cursive and neat presentation. Master Brain's own online abacus page says the course suits preschool and primary school children, with each child starting at the level that fits their current skills.
Who it's for
Children, with some courses open to adults too. Published age bands: Learn Arabic 6-12, Introduction to Spanish 6-12, Scratch coding 6-10 and the online chess programme 6-18. Arabic, Spanish and chess run at introduction/beginner, intermediate and advanced levels. The centre's online abacus page says the abacus course suits preschool and primary school children, from beginners to intermediate learners; the in-centre BrainOBrain page gives no age range - ask the provider.
