About Free Spirit Collective
Freespirit Collective is a psychology and wellbeing centre at Building 5, Unit 4, Happiness Street in City Walk. It serves adults, couples and families, and it has a dedicated Kids, Teens & Parents team led by Dr. Haneen Jarrar, its Clinical Director for Children & Adolescents, who works with children aged 1 to 13. The centre describes working with children and teens as whole people, not diagnoses. Its child and teen work covers therapy, psychoeducational assessments, support for ADHD, autism and dyslexia, and social skills groups built on embodied, play-based approaches. Child counselling psychologist Silvia Casciano uses a child-led, play-based approach, and there is family therapy and parent-child dyad work too. The centre also runs school programmes for ages 6-11, 5+ and 14+ in partnership with schools. Sessions are in person or online, in English, Arabic and other languages by arrangement. It is rated 4.4 on Google from 28 reviews. A good first step is the free 20-minute Clarity Call.
The activity
Creative & Play Therapy, explained
Play therapy uses toys, art, stories and movement to help children express feelings they may not yet have words for. Sessions are usually one-to-one with a trained psychologist or therapist in a calm room. The child leads much of the play while the therapist watches, reflects and gently guides, treating behaviour as a form of communication. Parents often look into it when a child is anxious, struggling with a big change, finding emotions hard to manage or having trouble with friendships. It can build emotional vocabulary, self-regulation and confidence. It is a therapeutic service rather than a class, so a first conversation or assessment usually comes before regular sessions, and the right starting age depends on the child.
Who it's for
Children, teens and their parents, alongside the centre's adult clients. Dr. Haneen Jarrar works with children aged 1-13; school programmes are for ages 6-11 (Executive Function & Wellbeing), 5+ (Understanding Each Student's World) and 14+ (Career Counselling & Wellness). Neurodivergent children (ADHD, autism, dyslexia, sensory differences) are a stated focus. There is a group course for teenage girls on body awareness and boundaries. Sessions are in English, Arabic and other languages by arrangement.
What to expect
Most families start with a free 20-minute Clarity Call with one of the therapists, which helps match you with the right practitioner, group or course. You request it through the form on the website or by WhatsApp, and the centre says it responds within one business day. Therapy sessions are 50 minutes and can be in person at City Walk or online. For children, the play-based clinicians follow the child's lead and treat behaviour as a form of communication. What a first child session looks like, whether a parent stays in the room and the fee for children's sessions are not published, so ask the provider.
