Fiafia is a play area and café on the ground floor of Gate Avenue's South Zone in DIFC, next to Carrefour Market. Its founder, Alia Al Nabooda, set it up as the place she couldn't find for her own children: somewhere safe and clean where kids play while parents watch, relax, work or meet friends. The name is Samoan and Tongan for a celebration of togetherness. Inside there are 5,400 sq ft of play under 7-metre-high ceilings, with a netted climbing frame, slides and separate spaces for babies, crawlers and children aged 1-12. On weekdays short group activities run through the day, from bubble time to ribbon dancing. The 1-hour pass for ages 1-12 is AED 70 with one adult included, and there is a full-day pass and a staffed drop-off for children aged 5 and over. The café serves coffee, pasta, pizza and burgers, and Fiafia also hosts birthday parties, school visits and play dates.

On weekdays a short group activity runs roughly every hour, such as bubble time, colouring, music and dancing with ribbons or hula hoops. It is pay-and-play by pass, and parents can relax in the café while children play.
