Umm Suqeim

Eurêka Study is a French network of private school-guidance coaches, and Marion Cellerier is its consultant in Dubai. She is a psychologist trained at INETOP (Cnam Paris) and a mother of three expat children in the IB curriculum, and she spent around twenty years in human resources before turning to guidance. From her practice in Al Reef Villas, Umm Suqeim 3, or online by video, she works with teenagers and students on the big choices: which baccalauréat specialities to take, which careers and courses suit them, Parcoursup applications for France, and applications abroad, including UK (UCAS) and Canada. Her Eurêka Study page mentions families from Dubai's French lycées as well as IB students. The core offer is the network's bilan d'orientation: four tailored sessions that use the network's own interest and personality tests and an online platform to explore careers between sessions, ending with a meeting with parents to agree an action plan. The website is written in French.

The activity

University Admissions, explained

School and university guidance (orientation scolaire) helps a teenager work out what they enjoy, what they are good at and which subjects, courses and universities fit. Sessions are one-to-one conversations with a guidance coach, often backed by interest and personality questionnaires, research into careers and study routes, and help with applications and admission interviews. It builds self-knowledge, confidence and a clear plan, and takes some of the stress out of big deadlines such as choosing exam subjects or applying to university. Families usually start in the early secondary years, when subject choices begin to shape later options, and carry on through the final year of school.

Who it's for

Secondary-school students and university students. The contact form lists Troisième, Seconde, Première, Terminale and higher education (Etudes supérieures); Eurêka Study's services also cover collège pupils and students who want to change course. Her Dubai page mentions students at the French lycées in Dubai and in the IB curriculum. Not a children's class: this is one-to-one guidance for teenagers and their parents.

What to expect

The Eurêka Study bilan d'orientation is four tailored sessions with the coach. The student takes the network's interest and personality tests (EurêKap and Mire) and a Talent Map of 51 skills, and explores careers on the MyEurêkaStudy platform between sessions. The last session is held with the parents: a summary of the tests, the careers kept, recommended courses and an action plan. Sessions take place in Umm Suqeim 3 or by video. For how a first meeting works, whether there is a free first call and how long sessions last, ask Marion.
