About Dubai Polo & Equestrian Club
Dubai Polo & Equestrian Club on Al Qudra Road is a polo venue with its own Riding Academy, which offers riding lessons for new and experienced riders. For children the ladder starts early: a Level 1 starter class for ages 2-4 (30 minutes) and ages 4-6 (45 minutes), both described as a starters' experience with ponies. From 6 to 16, children join 45-minute group lessons across four levels, each open to beginner, intermediate and advanced riders, and private 45-minute lessons are available for all levels. Children aged 8 and over can also learn polo at the club's Polo Academy, with junior group and private lessons on the club's horses or their own. Lessons are booked and paid upfront, and lesson packages come in fives and tens. The 10-lesson riding package includes three adult and three child pool passes, so a riding morning can end with a swim. Horse Riding, explained
Horse riding lessons teach children to sit, steer and control a pony or horse under an instructor in an enclosed arena. The youngest riders start on ponies, getting used to balance and the feel of the animal, then move up through levels towards independent walk, trot and canter. Along the way kids build core strength, coordination and confidence, and learn to stay calm and gentle around a large animal. At this club the Riding Academy's starter classes begin at age 2, and children aged 8 and over can also try polo, where riders learn to hit a ball with a mallet from the saddle.

What to expect
A first lesson for a toddler or young child is a Level 1 group starter class with ponies: 30 minutes for ages 2-4, 45 minutes for ages 4-6. Older children join a 45-minute group lesson at their level, or book a private 45-minute lesson. Every lesson has to be booked and paid in advance before it is confirmed, through the Equine office by phone, WhatsApp or email. Lessons can also be bought in packages of 5 or 10, which are valid for 10 weeks. The price list does not mention a free trial, the kit your child needs, or how many riders are in a group, so ask the Equine office about these before your first visit.
