About Drama Scene

DRAMA SCENE has been running since 2008 from its studios at The Mall on Jumeirah Road, Umm Suqeim 3, and describes itself as the largest skill-based performing arts school in the Middle East. It teaches Acting, Musical Theatre and Public Speaking to children and teens aged 3-18. On the Term 1 2026 timetable, Acting runs from Scene 1 (3-5) through Scene 2 (6-7), Scene 3 (8-9) and Scene 4 (10-12) to Acting Teens (13-18); Musical Theatre has groups for 3-5, 6-7, 8-12 and 13-18; and there is a Sunday Youth Theatre group for 12-18. Students aged 5 and over can take optional LAMDA exams (London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art). Classes run in three terms a year: Terms 1 and 2 build towards a recital, and in the April-July term Acting and Musical Theatre students perform in a ticketed annual production. Themed holiday workshops for 4-12s run in the winter, spring and summer breaks. Term fees are listed in the school's booking system, from AED 2,545. It's rated 4.8 on Google from 183 reviews.

The activity

Drama, explained

Drama classes use games, improvisation and scripted scenes to build a child's confidence speaking and performing in front of others. Kids work on voice, movement, characterisation and teamwork, often building towards a showcase, recital or exam. Classes are usually grouped by age so younger children focus on imaginative play and older ones move into scripted acting, musical theatre or public speaking. Many drama schools also offer accredited exams (such as LAMDA) for children who want a formal qualification alongside the fun.
