The activity

Football, explained

Football coaching for kids builds ball control, passing, movement and teamwork through drills and small-sided games, usually run by age group and ability level. Sessions typically start with a warm-up and technical drills - dribbling, passing, first touch - before moving into small games that put the skills into practice under light pressure. Academies often group children by age and level so training matches their stage, and older or more committed players can progress into squads that play league and cup matches. Many clubs take children from the early primary years and keep coaching them right through school.

Who it's for

Children and young players from complete beginners to experienced players; the football programme is listed for kids and adults of all skill levels. Its competitive squads include Under-10, Under-11, Under-13, Under-14, Under-15 and Under-17 teams. No minimum age is published - ask the provider for the youngest age accepted.

What to expect

New families can book a free trial session to try the coaching before joining, by registering on the website or getting in touch by WhatsApp or phone. Football sessions cover technical skills, tactical understanding, fitness and teamwork. Classes run on weekdays and weekends to fit around school, and the Sportsbay facility has a turf pitch and a parent-viewing zone. What to wear or bring for a first session, and how long each session lasts, isn't published - ask the provider when you book the trial.
