About Cascade Education
Cascade Education is a learning centre in a villa in Al Safa 2, Dubai, for children aged 4 to 14. It welcomes homeschoolers and children from mainstream school, and families who travel, have just moved or are between schools. The Morning Enrichment programme for ages 4 to 11 and the TRiBE teen programme for ages 11 to 14 run Monday to Friday from 8am to 2pm, and children come for at least three days a week, learning in mixed-age groups. Days mix maths and English with cooking, gardening, sport, dance, drama and project work, built around the centre's eight learning pods, from creativity and life skills to wellbeing and giving back. Teens add theatre, literature, music, financial literacy and communication, and a weekly Buddy Program brings them together with the younger children. There is one field trip each term and optional afternoon sessions. Cascade was set up in Dubai in 2013. Fees are not published; families start with a tour and a trial session. It is rated 5.0 on Google from 19 reviews.
The activity
Academics, explained
A homeschool learning hub gives children who are educated at home a place to learn alongside other children for part of the week. Days usually mix core subjects such as maths and English with projects, art, cooking, sport and outings, often in mixed-age groups led by teachers or guides. Families choose how many days to attend, so it can sit alongside home learning, travel or a move between schools. It suits children who like to learn by doing, need a flexible timetable or are waiting for a school place, and it gives them friends and a routine. Most hubs take children from early primary age, and some run separate groups for young teens.
Who it's for
Children aged 4 to 14. Morning Enrichment is for ages 4 to 11 and TRiBE, the teen programme, is for ages 11 to 14. The centre welcomes homeschoolers, unschoolers and children from mainstream school, as well as families who travel, have recently moved or are between schools. Children attend at least three days a week.
What to expect
Start by booking a tour to meet the team and see the spaces; booking is required, so message 052 386 9221 first. The next step is a trial session, then you choose your days, with a minimum of three a week. Days run from 8am to 2pm and mix academics with creative, practical and physical activities in mixed-age groups. Children bring their own food, as the centre does not provide meals, and there is no transport, though families can join a waitlist for a route. Programmes include learning materials, progress reviews, community events and regular parent meet-ups. Ask about fees, what the trial costs and which afternoon sessions are running this term.
