About Brain Prep
Brain Prep UCMAS Center is an after-school learning centre at 111C, Ibn Battuta Gate Office, in The Gardens area of Dubai. Its 2026 Facebook posts list UCMAS abacus, Vedic speed maths, SAT and Olympiad puzzles, physics, robotics and coding, vision arts, advanced fine arts and painting. It also offers school maths and physics support up to Grade 12 for IB, British, American, CBSE and ICSE pupils. The centre advertises a free trial class, so your child can try a subject before you sign up: book it by call or WhatsApp on 056 663 1136. It also runs a summer camp: its June 2026 posts advertised July and August sessions for children aged 6 and up, mixing robotics, mental maths and abacus, public speaking, chess, Rubik's Cube and arts and crafts. Term-time ages, timetables and fees aren't published, so ask which group suits your child and what a term costs.
The activity
Abacus, explained
Abacus classes teach children mental arithmetic with a bead counting frame. Children first move the beads by hand to add, subtract, multiply and divide, then learn to picture the abacus in their heads and work sums mentally, without paper or a calculator. Most programmes run in graded levels, with regular weekly practice building speed and accuracy over months. Many children start once they can count confidently and recognise numbers, often around age 5 or 6. Parents tend to choose abacus to build number confidence, concentration and memory alongside school maths.
Who it's for
School-age children. The centre's 2026 summer camp was for children aged 6 and up (its Industrial Automation sessions for 13+), and its school maths and physics support runs up to Grade 12 across IB, British, American, CBSE and ICSE curriculums. Ages for the term-time abacus, robotics and arts classes aren't published, so ask the centre which group fits your child.
What to expect
Start with the free trial class the centre advertises. Call or WhatsApp 056 663 1136 to book one and say which subject you're interested in: abacus, Vedic maths, robotics and coding, arts or school maths. The centre's posts say its classes work on fast calculation, concentration, logical thinking, problem solving and creativity, and its Facebook page lists both in-person and online classes. Class length, group size, kit and how terms are structured aren't published, so ask about them when you book, along with which days each programme runs.
