About Atlantic Ivy Education

Atlantic Ivy is a debate and public speaking academy in I-Rise Tower, Barsha Heights, founded by a former Director of Training at the Oxford Union. Its Dubai classes are two-hour weekly sessions in small groups, capped at eight students per class. The youngest class, Junior Fundamentals for ages 6-8, uses speaking games, show-and-tell and storytelling, ending the term with friendly mini-debates and a showcase talk for parents. From there, Fundamentals of Public Speaking (7-10), Junior Public Speaking (11-14) and Senior Public Speaking (15-18) build confidence and presentation skills, while Junior Debate Academy (11-14) and Senior Debate Academy (15-18) teach World Schools debate with judged rounds. There is also Junior MUN for ages 11-14. The site lists most in-person courses at AED 1,600 a term, shown as an early-bird rate, so confirm the current fee; the first session is a free trial. Live online courses on Zoom cover Public Forum debate and John Locke essay preparation. Rated 4.8 on Google from 19 reviews.

The activity

Debate Club, explained

Debate and public speaking classes teach kids to research a topic, build an argument and deliver it with confidence in front of others. Formats range from structured competitive debate (like World Schools or British Parliamentary style) to simpler public speaking practice for younger children. Kids build vocabulary, critical thinking, quick thinking under pressure and the confidence to speak up in class or on stage. Programmes usually run from around age 5 through to 18, with content and pace adjusted by age group.

Who it's for

Children and teens. Dubai in-person courses by age: Junior Fundamentals 6-8; Fundamentals of Public Speaking 7-10; Junior Public Speaking, Junior Debate Academy and Junior MUN 11-14; Sr. Debate Academy I 13-17 (Thursdays, Term 1 only); Senior Public Speaking and Senior Debate Academy 15-18. The site says children can start public speaking from age 5 and the coach places each child after a trial. Writing Scholars (online only) is for ages 10-18. Adult public speaking and executive coaching are also offered.

What to expect

The first session of each in-person course is a free trial, with no payment or commitment required: your child joins a real two-hour class in their age band, and the coach then recommends a level. Classes run once a week at I-Rise Tower, Barsha Heights, capped at eight students on the course pages; in Junior Fundamentals (6-8) every child speaks in every session. Parents get written feedback after each class, and missed classes can be made up free of charge. Enrolment is by term: the autumn 2026 Term 2 runs 31 October to 13 December. Payment is by card, bank transfer or cash, with payment plans on request.
