About XPark

XPark is an outdoor urban sports park at Kite Beach in Umm Suqeim, run by XDubai. It brings skateboarding, parkour, wall climbing and calisthenics together in one place, with a 20ft climbing tower, graffiti walls, shipping containers, concrete blocks and steel bars to play on. Children can ride skateboards, scooters, BMX bikes or inline skates. Three-wheeled scooters, penny boards, long boards and mountain bikes are not allowed. Families can drop in with a daily pass or take a three, six or twelve-month membership, and anyone without kit can rent a skateboard, scooter, helmet and pads on the day. XPark also offers lessons in skateboarding, parkour and climbing, with member's pricing for members, and hosts birthday parties. Helmets are compulsory for everyone, children under 10 must be supervised by a parent or a guardian the parent nominates, and the park says it is staffed at all times.

The activity

Skateboarding, explained

Skateparks give children a place to ride skateboards, scooters, BMX bikes or inline skates on ramps, bowls and ledges built for wheels. Beginners start on flat ground learning to push, balance and stop, then move on to gentle slopes and small drops before trying the bowl. Along the way children build balance, leg strength, coordination and the confidence to fall and get back up. Helmets and pads are part of the kit from day one. Many children start on a scooter and move to a skateboard once they are steady, and lessons help them learn safe technique and park etiquette, such as waiting their turn.

Who it's for

Children and teens who ride skateboards, scooters, BMX bikes or inline skates, plus those keen to try parkour or climbing. No minimum age is published; children under 10 must be supervised by a parent or a parent-nominated guardian. Ask the provider about age bands and levels for lessons.

What to expect

On a drop-in visit you book a daily pass online, put on a helmet, which everyone must wear, plus protective gear, and ride the park. If your child doesn't have kit, skateboards, scooters, helmets and safety pads can be rented for AED 40 per day. Parents of children under 10 stay and supervise. For coaching, the XPark page has a lesson sign-up form for parkour, climbing or skateboarding in bundles of 1, 5 or 10 lessons. Lesson prices, lengths and age groups are not listed, so ask the provider. No free trial is published.
