About WPA World Padel Academy

World Padel Academy's Al Quoz venue in Dubai runs a Junior Academy for kids aged 4 to 15, alongside adult academies, coaching and court hire. Every child starts with a level assessment and is then placed in a group with others of the same age and level - normally 5-7, 8-10 and 11-13 years, with four to six children per group. The academy runs as 14-week programmes, and children can join mid-term if there is space. Trial sessions are offered for first-timers, and WPA hosts open days where kids can try padel and meet the coaches. The venue has 10 air-conditioned indoor courts, plus changing rooms, showers and lifestyle spaces. The Al Quoz page lists 12 coaches, 10 of whom coach juniors as well as adults. Private sessions are also available alongside the group classes. There is a 10% sibling discount (T&Cs apply). It's rated 4.6 on Google from 300 reviews.

The activity

Padel, explained

Padel is a racquet sport, usually played in doubles, on an enclosed court about a third smaller than a tennis court. The glass and mesh walls are part of play: the ball can bounce off them and stay in the rally. The serve is underarm and the court is compact, so beginners, including young children, tend to get into rallies quickly. For kids it builds hand-eye coordination, footwork, quick decisions and teamwork, because every point is played with a partner. Junior coaching usually happens in small groups, where children learn the basic strokes, how to use the walls and how to move with a partner, before moving on to match play as they improve.

Who it's for

Kids aged 4 to 15, from first-timers upwards. Groups are based on both age and skill level - normally 5-7, 8-10 and 11-13 years - after an assessment before the academy starts.

What to expect

Your child's first step is a level assessment, after which they join a group of four to six children of the same age and level. Trial sessions are available for first-timers, and WPA also runs open days where kids can try padel and meet the coaches. Juniors can bring their own racket and balls or rent them; in Dubai the kit comes from SIUX, the junior academy's sponsor. Dress in comfortable sportswear and non-marking sports shoes. Missed sessions still count against the package; a make-up is at WPA's discretion, mainly for illness or injury with a medical note. Prices and session times are not published, so ask the provider.
