About KidZania Dubai
KidZania Dubai is a 7,000 square metre indoor city on Level 2 of The Dubai Mall, built at children's scale. Kids can try more than 40 real-world jobs across the city: checking in at the Emirates counter and training as cabin crew, putting out fires with NAFFCO, reading the news in the TV studio, making pizzas at Pizza Express or working a shift at the American Hospital. Every job pays in kidZos, the city's currency, which children spend at the Department Store or bank at Al Hilal Bank for their next visit. Trained staff called Zupervisors introduce each activity, so older children can move around fairly independently while parents wait in the parents' lounge. Most activities are aimed at 4 to 16 year olds, with a toddler ticket for ages 2 to 3. A standard kids' ticket is AED 195 and gives access all day, so families can stay until closing time. It is all indoors, so it works on the hottest days, and the rest of the mall is right outside.
The activity
Attractions & Edutainment, explained
KidZania is an indoor, child-sized city where children try out real jobs. Instead of rides, there are working versions of a hospital, fire station, bank, TV studio, supermarket and pizzeria, and children pick the roles they want: firefighter, dentist, news reporter, pilot, chef. Each job comes with a short introduction from a trained staff member (a 'Zupervisor'), and children are paid in kidZos, the city's own currency, which they can spend or save in the bank. It is pretend play with structure, and it builds confidence, teamwork and an early feel for money. Most activities suit children aged 4 to 16, with a smaller set for toddlers aged 2 to 3.
Who it's for
Children aged 4 to 16 get the full city (the Economy and Premium tickets are for ages 4-16). Toddlers aged 2 to 3 have their own ticket with selected activities, and babies under 2 go in free but no activity is offered for them. Children under 120cm must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Adults can't enter without a child, and can't join the role-play activities apart from watching shows in the theatre.
What to expect
Children check in at the Emirates Airlines counter and get a boarding pass when they arrive, then pick up a debit card at Al Hilal Bank for their kidZos. From there they choose jobs around the city; each one starts with a short briefing from a Zupervisor, and they earn kidZos as they work. Adults are kept out of some activity areas, but there is a parents' lounge. Children can stay until closing time, and the Metropolitan Theatre puts on shows through the day. Outside food isn't allowed; McDonald's, Pizza Express and Reel Cinemas Cafe are inside. Face painting costs a small extra fee.
