Al Garhoud

iEnglish Languages Institute is a UAE chain of English schools, with Dubai branches in Al Garhoud and on Sheikh Zayed Road, plus Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Fujairah. Language Classes, explained

After-school English classes help children who speak another language at home, or who are simply finding school English hard, to listen, speak, read and write with more confidence. Classes are usually small groups built around stories, games, conversation and short writing tasks, with a placement check first so each child starts at the right level. Alongside the language itself, children practise speaking up in front of others and get extra reading practice that feeds back into school work. Many centres take children from the early years of school, and older students can move on to exam-focused courses such as IELTS or EmSAT preparation.

The main institute teaches General English from beginner to advanced, plus exam and academic courses that suit teenagers and adults. For children, the group's iEnglish Kids brand describes levels from KG2 to Grade 9 on its own site; ask your branch which ages and levels it takes.

iEnglish Kids says it starts with a placement test to find each child's level before placing them in a course, and its course page describes story-based lessons, games, conversation and interactive screens using Cambridge materials.
