About Howzat Indoor Cricket

Howzat is an AI-powered, augmented reality cricket experience in the Sports Zone at BurJuman Mall, Bur Dubai (Shop 1035A, level 2, opposite Puma). You bat in a cage while multi-point cameras and computer-vision software track the speed, trajectory and angle of each ball and work out your score as if the shot had been hit in a real stadium. Howzat gives real-time feedback from video of your game, its in-app analysis lets you compare sessions with other players, and its ranked game modes feed global leaderboards. It is made for groups: up to 8 players share a cage, and Howzat takes birthday parties and corporate bookings for up to 30 people across several cages. Kids aged 6 and up can play in a kids' difficulty mode, with a parent or another adult supervising, and the balls are semi-light rather than hard cricket balls. It is a play-and-compete venue rather than a coaching academy, and it is rated 4.9 on Google from 319 reviews.

The activity

Cricket, explained

Indoor cricket moves the game into batting cages, so kids can bat whatever the weather and without a full-size pitch. The focus is on the most fun part of cricket: watching the ball, timing the shot and seeing where it would have gone. That builds hand-eye coordination, footwork and concentration, and softer balls make it a gentle first taste of the sport. Game-style sessions with scores, targets and friends to beat keep things lively, so it suits curious beginners as well as kids who already play at school or for a club and simply love to bat.

Who it's for

Kids aged 6 and over, which is Howzat's stated minimum age; children must be accompanied and supervised by a parent or adult, and there is a kids' difficulty mode. Also groups of friends, families, birthday parties and corporate teams. You can lower the difficulty if the bowling feels too fast. Nothing is published on special needs - ask the provider.

What to expect

A session is a game of cricket in a batting cage: cameras track every ball and the software scores your shot as if it were hit in a stadium, with video-based feedback on how you played. Up to 8 players can share a cage and pick from several game modes. Wear comfortable clothes you can bat in; flat-soled shoes are compulsory (no heels, flip-flops or bare feet). Younger players use the kids' mode with an adult supervising. Prices, session length and any trial offer are not published - ask the provider. Bookings can be cancelled or rescheduled on request, ideally at least 4 hours before.
