About European Equestrian Academy

European Equestrian Academy (EEA) is a riding school at Bin Dhahi Stables on Al Qudra Road, where it moved in October 2025. It teaches children and adults, from a first pony ride to show-jumping competition, and is affiliated with the French Equestrian Federation (FFE), so riders can work through the official FFE Galop levels and exams. Little ones can start with a 15-minute pony ride from age 3 or a 30-minute Mini Riders first ride (ages 5-15, up to 3 riders). Juniors aged 6-18 can book a fixed weekly group slot for a whole term, or the Complete Horsemanship Program: about two hours at the stable each week, with a 50-minute ride plus 50 minutes of horse care, theory and groundwork. Group lessons take up to 7 riders. The 2026-2027 fees are published in full, and you can try a pay-as-you-go lesson before joining. Holiday camps and birthday parties run at the stable too.

The activity

Horse Riding, explained

Riding lessons start on the ground as much as in the saddle. Children learn to groom and tack up a pony, then work on balance, posture and steering at walk before moving on to trot, canter and small jumps. Alongside the riding, many schools teach horse care and stable management, so kids learn responsibility and how to read an animal's mood. It builds core strength, coordination, patience and confidence. Most children start with short, led pony sessions around ages 3 to 5 and move to 45-60 minute group lessons once they can ride on their own. A riding hat and long trousers are the usual basics.

Who it's for

Children and adults of all levels, beginner to competition. Pony Ride ages 3+; Mini Riders - First Ride ages 5-15 for young first-time riders; Group Riding Terms and the Complete Horsemanship Program ages 6-18, Beginner to Elite; Group Riding Pass, semi-private and private lessons for junior and adult riders; holiday camps ages 5+ (2026-2027 price list).

What to expect

A first visit can be a 15-minute pony ride (ages 3+, AED 50) or a 30-minute Mini Riders first ride (ages 5-15, AED 200 without membership), which the academy describes as a gentle, confidence-building introduction to balance, posture and basic horse control with no more than 3 riders. Children who already ride independently can try a single 50-minute group lesson (AED 270, up to 6 riders). No membership is needed for these trial and pay-as-you-go lessons. Book through the academy's EC Pro booking page or on WhatsApp. For what to wear and whether hats are lent, ask the provider.
