Eduscan Group: holiday camps and special-needs support in Al Qusais
About Eduscan Group
Eduscan Group runs holiday camps and special-needs education from two Dubai centres: Eduscan Institute at Al Qusais Plaza and the Eduscan Special Care Center in Palace Tower, Dubai Silicon Oasis. Its holiday camps are run under the supervision of Dr Alka Kalra, a licensed psychologist. The summer camp offers three courses (Leadership Training, Progressive Academic Training and Skills Development); winter and spring camps offer Leadership Training and Skills Development. Children are split into four age groups, from 4 to 6 up to 13 and above, and camp runs 9AM to 1PM, Monday to Friday, with a final performance at the end. The activity list mixes public speaking, memory and concentration, creative thinking and stage performance with swimming, ice skating, dance, karate, pottery, art and craft, sports and an optional night camp. Camps are held at several partner schools as well as Eduscan's own centres, so check which venue suits you. Beyond camps, Eduscan runs a School of Determination for ages 4 to 18, individual therapies and psychometric assessments.
The activity
Holiday Camps, explained
A holiday camp fills the school break with a structured half-day or full-day programme run by trained staff, usually in a school or centre. Children are grouped by age and rotate through a mix of activities: some classroom-style, such as public speaking, memory games or creative writing, and some active, such as swimming, dance, martial arts or team sports, with art and craft in between. Camps keep routines going over long breaks, help children make friends outside their usual class and give them a low-pressure place to try something new. Eduscan takes children from 4, and you can book any number of weeks, so you can fit a camp around travel plans.
Who it's for
Holiday camps: four age groups, 4 to 6, 7 to 9, 10 to 12, and 13 and above. The School of Determination takes students aged 4 to 18 with special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language delays, Down syndrome and sensory processing difficulties.
What to expect
A camp day runs from 9AM to 1PM, Monday to Friday, and each camp closes with a weekend performance where children show what they have learned. Children choose a course (three in summer, two in winter and spring) and are placed in an age group. The optional night camp costs extra. Registration is online through Eduscan's registration portal or by phone. For the School of Determination, the first step is a free evaluation and consultation: you submit documents, a multidisciplinary team assesses your child and the team interviews parents. Ask the provider what to pack and whether a trial day is possible.
