About DXB Horseriding
DXB Horse Riding is a family-run equestrian club in Third Al Ruwaiyah, just off the E66 Al Ain-Dubai Road and about 25 minutes from Downtown by the club's own estimate. It opened in 2023, and its ride and lesson pages name the venue as M11 Equestrian Club. For children there are two ways in. From age 4, a hand-led pony ride of 20 to 30 minutes costs AED 70, with a handler on the lead rope throughout and parents free to walk alongside. From age 6, children can join arena lessons with an instructor: a group lesson is AED 172 on the booking page, and a beginner's first lesson runs about 60 minutes. The club also runs desert rides at sunrise and sunset, beach rides and jumping lessons. Certified helmets are included, and riders under 17 need a parent or guardian to sign a safety waiver. It is rated 4.3 on Google from 4 reviews.
The activity
Horse Riding, explained
Horse riding teaches children to sit balanced in the saddle, hold the reins, steer and stop the horse. Most start in a fenced arena at walk, then move on to trot and, after more lessons, canter and small jumps. The very youngest usually begin with a hand-led pony ride: an adult holds the lead rope and walks beside the pony, and the child simply sits and gets used to being up there. Lessons with an instructor often begin at around six. Riding builds core strength, posture, coordination and confidence, and being around horses teaches patience. A riding helmet is essential, with long trousers and closed shoes with a small heel.
Who it's for
Children from age 4 for hand-led pony rides; from age 6 for arena lessons with an instructor. The club says its experiences suit complete beginners through to experienced riders, and jumping lessons are for riders already secure at trot and canter. Riders under 17 need a parent or guardian to sign the safety waiver. The maximum rider weight for standard rides is 85kg. The site does not give a minimum age for its desert or beach rides, so ask the provider before booking one for a child.
What to expect
For a young child, a first visit is usually the pony ride: 20 to 30 minutes at walking pace, led by a handler, with a helmet provided and parents walking alongside. For a first arena lesson (age 6 and up), the club says a complete beginner's lesson runs about 60 minutes instead of the usual 40 to 45, and covers how to approach and lead the horse, mount safely, sit in the saddle and stop. Every session starts with a safety briefing, so arrive 15 minutes early. Children need long trousers or leggings and closed shoes; sandals and shorts are not allowed. The site does not mention a free trial.
