The activity

Tennis, explained

Kids' tennis starts with hand-eye coordination, footwork and simple rallying, usually with smaller rackets and softer, slower balls, before children move up to full-court play and match technique. Coaches tend to group children by age and ability and build the core strokes step by step: serve, forehand, backhand and volley, through repetition, games and match-style drills. Private and small-group lessons let a coach focus closely on one child, while bigger groups add a social side. Tennis builds fitness, coordination, focus and sportsmanship, and many children pick up a racket for the first time at around four or five.

Who it's for

Children and adults of all ages and skill levels, according to the academy's site, from beginners to players preparing for tournaments. Kids can take private, semi-private or group classes, and the academy mentions after-school and school tennis programmes. No specific age bands are published - ask the provider which group suits your child.

What to expect

The academy offers private, semi-private and group classes for kids, so you can choose between one-to-one attention and learning alongside other children. It lists its courts across Mudon, Sustainable City and Arabian Ranches 1, 2 and 3, so confirm where your child's sessions will take place. Bookings are handled by phone, WhatsApp or email.
