About Ada Tech Institute

Ada Tech Institute is a technology school for children and teenagers in Dubai Knowledge Park, named after the computing pioneer Ada Lovelace. Its flagship Advanced Computer Programme runs in five Levels, from Beginner Foundations for ages 9-11 up to Professional Readiness for ages 16-17. Each Level mixes several strands rather than coding alone: programming (Python first, then C++, C#, Kotlin and Java), LEGO SPIKE Prime robotics and Arduino or Micro:bit electronics, 3D modelling from Tinkercad to Fusion 360 and Blender, game development from Construct 3 to Roblox Studio, Unity and Unreal, app building, UI design and, at the upper Levels, AI and neural networks. The approach is project-based: students finish games, robots, apps and 3D models they can present, building a portfolio as they go. Groups are described as small and studio-sized. Beyond the weekly programme there are short intensive workshops and week-long holiday and summer camps. Beginners are welcome, and a free trial class comes first.

The activity

Robotics, explained

Kids' coding and robotics classes teach children to make technology do things rather than just use it. They write step-by-step instructions for a screen, a robot or a circuit, test them, spot what went wrong and fix it. Along the way they pick up logic, patience with trial and error, maths in a practical form, and the confidence to build something from nothing. Classes usually mix screen time with hands-on kits: robots with motors and sensors, small circuit boards that light LEDs or read a button, 3D design software for printable models, and simple game engines. Younger beginners tend to start with visual, drag-and-drop tools before moving on to typed languages such as Python.

Who it's for

Children and teenagers from 9 to 17, beginners to advanced (a few places on the site say 8-17, and the enquiry form lists age 8, so ask about an 8-year-old). Level bands on the programme page: Level 1 ages 9-11, Level 2 ages 11-12, Level 3 ages 12-13, Level 4 ages 14-17, Level 5 ages 16-17. No previous coding experience is needed; students are placed by age, confidence and current ability.

What to expect

Everything starts with a free, no-commitment trial class. You send a short enquiry about your child (or message on WhatsApp), and the team says it will be in touch within one working day to arrange the trial. In the trial your child does a small hands-on activity while the instructor gets a feel for their interests, then recommends the right Level or track. Complete beginners start with visual and creative projects before moving into deeper coding. Level 1 covers Python with Turtle graphics, Swift Playgrounds, LEGO SPIKE Prime robots, Tinkercad, Arduino Nano and Micro:bit circuits, and 2D games in Construct 3. Kit, class times, class length and fees are not on the site, so ask the provider.
