About Acamind Academy

Acamind Academy is a training institute in the Kanoo Building in Al Karama, next to ADCB Metro Station. Most of its courses are for adults and companies, from accounting and HR to AI, data and IELTS, but it also runs a set of programmes for school students. Its Future-Ready Triple Skills Program for Teens has three 10-session courses for ages 11-15: Finance & Entrepreneurship, where students build a business plan, manage a mock budget and pitch to the group; Life Skills Lab, peer-led sessions on emotional intelligence, leadership, digital safety and goal setting; and Teen Talk Lab, which builds public speaking and debate in English. Alongside these sit a 20-hour AI for Teens course for ages 11-15 with no coding needed, a 30-hour Teen Public Speaking & Critical Thinking course for ages 11-17, and board exam preparation for IGCSE, AS/A Level, IB and AP. The AI and public speaking courses run online, in person or hybrid; for the Triple Skills programmes, ask the academy. The academy describes itself as KHDA approved. Ask the academy for prices and start dates.

The activity

Financial Literacy, explained

Financial literacy for children is about how money works in real life: earning, saving, spending, budgeting and making choices. In a good class, kids learn by doing rather than listening. They might plan a pretend business, manage a mock budget, work out what things cost and pitch an idea to the group. Along the way they practise maths, planning, teamwork and speaking up. Simple money habits such as saving towards a goal can start early at home, while structured courses that include business plans and investing ideas are usually aimed at older children and young teens, who can handle numbers and abstract ideas with more confidence.

Who it's for

School students aged 11-15 for the Finance & Entrepreneurship, Life Skills Lab and Teen Talk Lab programmes and the AI for Teens course; ages 11-17 for Teen Public Speaking & Critical Thinking; students preparing for IGCSE/GCSE, AS/A Level, IB or AP exams (no ages given). The academy says all abilities are welcome on the teen programmes, the AI course needs no coding, and the public speaking course suits beginners and shy teens. Most of the academy's other courses are for adults.

What to expect

Each teen programme runs over 10 sessions and ends with something to show: a pitch day and portfolio for Finance & Entrepreneurship, a graduation speech for Teen Talk Lab, and a final project presentation for AI for Teens. Finance & Entrepreneurship sessions last 90 minutes and Teen Talk Lab sessions 45 minutes. The academy says classes use small batches, with speaking activities, games, discussions and role-play, and students get a certificate of completion for the AI and public speaking courses. The site has a form to book a demo; ask whether a demo or trial is offered for the teen programmes, and what your child needs to bring.
