Questions parents ask about splash pads

Are there free splash pads in Dubai?

Yes: the Central Splash Park at Dubai Creek Harbour is free to use. Others charge: the Town Square splash pad is AED 15 for residents and AED 25 for non-residents per 30 minutes, the Dubai Hills Park splash park is ticketed, and resort water parks such as Just Splash at JA The Resort need a day pass (from AED 150 a child, spent on food and drink, with children 6 and under free). Each listing shows the price it publishes.

What ages are splash pads for?

Most are built for young children up to about 10 or 12. The Dubai Hills Park splash park is for children 10 and under and the Town Square splash pad for 12 and under; Al Barari Playground has a separate toddler water area. Resort water parks use height limits for each slide instead of ages, so check them before a toddler queues.

What are splash pad opening hours in Dubai?

Most open from late morning or early afternoon into the evening; the Central Splash Park at Dubai Creek Harbour, for example, opens from 2pm to 7pm. Some close for an hour for cleaning, as Al Barari’s Adventure Splash Pad does from 1pm to 2pm. October can still reach the mid-30s Celsius, so late afternoon is the most comfortable time.

Are Dubai splash pads shaded?

Some are: the Dubai Hills Park splash park has shaded canopies over the play area, and resort water parks such as Jungle Bay at Le Méridien Mina Seyahi have shaded cabanas. Not every splash pad has shade, so bring sun cream and hats and go when the shade grows in the afternoon.

What should children wear to a splash pad?

Proper swimwear: most splash pads and water parks do not allow cotton clothes or jeans in the water. An adult has to supervise, and Splash ’n’ Party asks for a supervising adult aged 20 or over. Several, including Splash ’n’ Party, Al Barari and the JA day pass, do not allow outside food or drink, so check before you pack a picnic.
